About The Killers' "When You Were Young" video shoot

2. Anthony Mandler has directed many amazing videos, including
Rihanna's "Unfaithful," Nelly Furtado's "Maneater," Eminem's "When
I'm Gone," and The Black Eyed Peas "Get Original." For more of his

3. Shot in Mexico - all Mexican cast, crew & locations. Looks
fantastic, authentic, cinematic.
4. Tlayacapan is a small, historic town in the mountains 2 hours
outside Mexico City.
5. The exterior shots include scenes that took place in 500 year old
churches.
6. The band performed in a local brothel. Everyone was very nice.
7. The Killers created a name for their band, and a local Mexican
artist hand lettered it on their drumhead, with roses etc. Spot it
in the video!
8. The Killers slept in a beautiful local hacienda, with 200 year
old banyan trees, waterfalls and pools. One night Dave fought, and
ultimately lost, a battle with a 5" long gecko. Dave moved to
another room, and the gecko slept soundly.
9. In one scene, Brandon walks through the centre of town, followed
by a local mariachi band. The local strays, attracted by all the
noise an excitement, can be seen excitedly running in and out of
frame.
10. The video has an alternate ending that will only be available
on-line.
