The Killers rounded off the second day of Glasto with an electrifying one-and-a-half hour set that left the main stage audience roaring for higher volume once again.

The Las Vegas quintet took the stage amid a dazzzling firework display, with Brandon Flowers striding onto the Pyramid Stage like a king to his throne - resplendent in a gold lamé suit. "Glastonbury, we are all yours!", he declared.

Although visually stunning and rich in singalong festival anthems - including the band's biggest hits 'All These Things That I've Done' and 'Smile Like You Mean It 'as well as their version of the 1960s classic 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' - the low volume of sound dampened what would surely otherwise have been a defining Glastonbury headline set, echoing similar problems that affected the Arctic Monkeys the night before.

Organisers seemed to bow to the crowd's demands by turning up the volume for the encore which kicked off with a tribute to Joy Division with a cover of 'Shadowplay'. Flowers had introduced the tune with an a cappella version of the Andy Williams classic 'Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You'.

The Killers headline performance on the Pyramid stage at the 2007 Glastonbury Festival will go down in history as one of the greats. The LA rockers delighted the crowd by playing hits from their first two albums Hot Fuss and Sam's Town as well as a cover of Joy Division's 'Shadowplay'.
