Killers end tour at Hard Rock Hotel
Las
Vegas Review Journal
by Jason Bracelin.
Brandon Flowers never has been afraid to dream big, and his band's
repertoire always has followed suit: As frontman for the Killers,
Flowers favors rousing, heart-in-the-throat rockers marinated in
stardust and great expectations.
Back in their hometown for their first Vegas gig since appearing at
Vegoose in October, the Killers are wrapping up their successful
North American tour at the Hard Rock Hotel, having played some of
their biggest venues yet, mostly headlining arenas.
And rightfully so.
"Sam's Town" is a deliberately big sounding record tailored for
large stages, with ringing anthems evocative of the vastness of the
American West.
It's an album directly reflective of the landscape in which it was
created, equally enamored with bright lights and wide open spaces.
Having sold close to 3 million copies worldwide, the disc has
cemented the Killers as the larger-than-life rock band that they've
never shied away from aspiring to become.
Back in Vegas, the stars in their eyes just may outshine the Strip.
