Mindblowing
Night at Red Rocks
Channel 933's Nextfest is the new "Big Adventure", and to be honest, I like this format much more

I say this from time to time, "Sometimes there are concerts, and sometimes there are concert events....".
The fact that the show was at Red Rocks just tops it off. I can't think of a better setting to hold local favorites The Fray and The Killers.
First The Fray. This could have been the greatest concert of their lives. To play in a sold out crowd, at one of the world's greatest concert venues in the community in which they grew up. They looked (and played) like a baseball player must feel hitting a game winning homer in the bottom of the th. Can you imagine? It was a reality. Really funny too when they were walking back to their dressing room when Isaac said "Thanks for playing us on the radio."
I was sitting, literally, on the stage taking pictures and kept looking behind me to see if this crowd was only here to see the killers....NOT TRUE. Sure, most of the crowd only knew "Cable Car" but they all were watching, looking like they wanted to know more. I imagine their CD release party September th at the Paramount will be full. Look at the pictures during the daytime, those are all of the crowd watching the Fray. Look at the empty seats....there's NONE.
As for Spoon...I felt like I would have liked them a lot more if I was in a dark smoky club in a more intimate setting. Red Rocks just didn't feel indie to me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the music, but going home not smelling like cigarettes was kinda strange after watching them.
THE KILLERS! Can you say epic? This band grows more and more every MONTH. They started playing 100 person venues about a year ago, and are now selling out Red Rocks. They played new songs, which surprisingly, some people knew word for word. EVERYONE there knew EVERY song from Hot Fuss. It was a concert that I look around and just say, wow. People were dancing, screaming, yelling, crying, laughing, loving, and every other positive action and emotion you can think of. People were in awe of the insane drumming, casual and accurate guitar and bass, and Brandon being the showman he is. It's no wonder The Killers are as huge as they are overseas and in the states.
